Mission and History
The OC Bee Team started with a vision of developing a beekeeping, and outreach education program that would benefit beekeepers, gardeners, nature enthusiasts and the local community. The focus was the creation of a teaching apiary emphasizing hands-on activities and beekeeping techniques that were based on science. The establishment of a pollinator garden would be an integral part of the apiary to promote the health of all pollinators by choosing plants that are rich in pollen and nectar and well suited for Southern California. The OC Bee Team trained volunteers donate their time to keep the honey bees, and garden healthy while teaching best practices that enhance our natural resources improving the well-being of individuals and our community.
